my sugar issues vent

It could be nothing, but after consuming more the usual amount of sugar today, a blind spot in one eye developed. It has been about two years since the last time that's happened. I remember the last time it happened, I ate two big pastries .....they were so good. Soon after that while driving home, a blind spot showed up.....its really strange. I read where it could be something related to diabetes. Blood vessels in the back of the eye could be leaking when this happens. I think its a progressive thing, especially if ya don't take care of yourself(exercise, eat right,etc.etc.). Could be high blood sugar causing high blood pressure.

Tonight I just laid down still for a while in the dark, like I have done in the past, and blind spot(s) eventually went away. When I'd look directly at something I couldn't see it with that one eye...I had to look to the side of what I wanted to see in order to see it with that eye.

I've had a history of high sugar(testing my sugar with sugar meters), but have no money, no insurance, no way of getting checked out. Unless I go tell one place I live in my car, then maybe I could get some help...lol.

Either way, I feel ok now....and like many people, I'll just go on until can't go anymore and no doubt have to go to the doctor. It'd be nice to have health insurance.

Anyway, i feel like my sugar's low now.....though, I don't have any test strips to really find out. Being broke sucks, i bet my readers will agree with that.

Have a good week everyone!
Peace!!!

  1. Jeremy,

From my own experience, and experience with my wife, such mysteries in critical places can be very upsetting mixed with crappy and scary. I don't know what the Buddhist equivalent of "I'll pray for you", but that's what I'll do.

  3. Thank you both for the comments and link. :)

I've read up on retinopathy, and it sounds like what happened. Even if it wasn't diabetic retinopathy, there are other retinopathies. They even had a sample photo of a center field of vision blind spot which is very similar to what its like. The last time it happened was two years ago, and before that it was probably 4-5 years. It'll be all right for now. Thanks again!
